Scuba Diver Certification Course
If your child have always wanted to learn how to scuba dive, discover new adventures or simply see the wondrous world beneath the waves, this is where it starts.
The Scuba Diver Certification Course is one of the world's most popular scuba courses, and has introduced millions to the adventurous diving lifestyle.
Prerequisites
- Must be 10 years of age or older.
- Must be able to complete a medical questionnaire, and obtain medical clearance if necessary.
This course consists of three main phases:
1) Knowledge Development to understand the basic principles of diving
2) Confined Water Dives (Pool) to learn the basic scuba skills
3) Certification examination dives (in summer)

Level 1: $150 CAD + Tax

Our Kids Summer Scuba Camp is designed to introduce scuba diving to young people, in a safe and fun atmosphere.
During each one week camp (5 Days Total), students will partake in 5 classroom sessions, and 5 pool diving sessions.
Participants will find themselves navigating through hoola hoops, playing underwater frisbee, watching diving movies, and even exploring the scenes at The Vancouver Aquarium.
Upon completion of the camp, if participants wish to receive a full PADI Junior Open Water Certification (Upon Instructor's approval), they can add 2 days of ocean diving for an upgrade price of $380 CAD + Tax

Q: How old do I have to be to get certified?
A: You need to be at least 10 years old to become a PADI certified Junior Open Water Scuba Diver. 10 and 11 year olds must dive with a certified parent, guardian or PADI Professional to a maximum depth of 40 feet. 12 to 14 year olds must dive with a certified adult. At age 15, the Junior certification upgrades to a regular Open Water Diver certification.
Q: Do I have to be a great swimmer to be certified as a PADI Open Water Diver?
A: No. All you need to be is a reasonably proficient swimmer who is comfortable and relaxed in the water. The swimming requirement for certification is an easy 183 meter/200 yard nonstop swim (with no time or specific stroke requirement) and 10 minute tread/float.
Q: Is scuba diving dangerous?
A: Not really. Statistics show that recreational scuba diving is about as safe as swimming. Certainly there are potential hazards -- which is why you need training and certification -- but like driving a car, as long as you follow the rules and use common sense, it's pretty safe. To put it in perspective, the drive in your car to go diving is more dangerous than the diving.
